The TfC Review Service

....is helping a rapidly growing number of providers to prepare competitive, successful tenders. During May, users of this cost effective, mentoring based service were awarded contracts with a total value of £18.1 million the successes for June have increased the total for these two months alone to £30.3 million - and successes continue to roll in.

The service does not rely on old, outdated appraisal information and feedback. Procurement is an ever developing process which is heavily influenced by political and other events. The publicity surrounding conditions at Winterbourne View together with the potential failure of Southern Cross have impacted heavily on many aspects of tendering for health and social care services. Important changes have been introduced by many purchasers during May and June in tender structure, requirement and scoring. In order to be successful providers need to be aware of the new priorities and requirements.

The TfC Tender Review Service provides a cost effective solution to tender inprovement and is having a demonstrable effect on the successes of those providerswho use the service.

The Tender Review Service incorporates two unique features:

• A verbal and visual review with an expert, which has been described as being similar to personal mentoring session; and
• The opportunity for the learning acquired during the review of a "live" or failed tender to be CPD certified.
  

In summary:

• The review session uses a system which enables you to use your PC or laptop to view YOUR tender OUR computer screen;
• During a telephone call we look at your draft with you, go through it in detail discussing possible amendments and options for improvement;
• At the end fo the session we send you the amended document;
• Although one review has been shown to be helpful, real success has come from two or three reviews undertaken as the tender is developed.

• As an additional benefit

• We are able to CPD certify the learning acquired during the review/mentoring sessions.

The costs?

For pre-planned reviews arranged in advance during the tender development process - £450 + VAT

For our 24 hour service arranged at short notice -  £550 + VAT

CPD certification £20 per person + VAT
